There is nothing more relaxing than sitting on the porch at Wildlife Lodge and hearing in the distance  the call of the Loons coming from Onawa Lake and Big Greenwood Pond in Elliottsville. Almost all the lakes along the Moosehead Trail and Moosehead Lake have Loons. Some of the lakes and ponds you can visit to see them are Moosehead Lake Greenville, Little Greenwood Pond, Big Greenwood Pond, Greenwood Pond, Onawa Lake are in Elliottsville, Big Benson Pond, Sebec Lake, Grindstone Pond are in Willimantic, Monson Pond, Lake Hebron, Doe Pond, Spectacle Pond are in Monson, Shirley Pond is in Shirley Shirley Mills, and Whetstone Pond and Piper Pond in in Abbott.
